Having read a good ways into Kite Runner I feel as though I don’t necessarily relate to any one character in this book. Although I don’t relate I do understand some of the situations that appear in this book. One of the situations I understand is how Amir feels about he and his father’s relationship, most people seem that they can relate to something like this whether it’s between a father and son, mother and daughter or vise versa. I know from past experience that I was not that close with my father and that we didn’t have many of the same interests and was barely around each other by choice, I had always lived with my mom the way I preferred it. But when my mom got to the stage in her cancer where it was best to be in the nursing home I decided I would stay with my dad, to this day we still don’t have the best of a relationship but its more than it was at a certain point in time.
